Fast for Us

John's grandparents have 14 kids, 86 grandchildren, and over 150 (I think) great-grandchildren. Whenever one of them needs blessings, for whatever reason, they ask the family to do a fast for them. This coming Sunday is fast Sunday and we need your help too. Please include us in your fast. John is looking for a job and it's pretty urgent that he find one. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks!

Something doesn't look right

I noticed the onesie on backwards and thought, "easy mistake." Then I went to change his diaper and saw the pants and couldn't help but laugh. Did you also notice that while the same colors, the stripes are from two different outfits? LOL!

From Marshall

Marshall: "I cleaned up my clothes for all the days!"
Me: "Then why are there still clothes on your bedroom floor?"
Marshall: "I wanted it to be like your bedroom."

Later that night I told John and he replied: "Like Father, like Son." At least he takes full responsibility. His mom warned me when we got married, "John leaves trails." That he does, that he does.

25 Things Tag

My cute cousin McCall tagged me (well, everyone) to do this post.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

1. When I was little I organized EVERYthing all the time. I was really anal retentive and if things got messed up by somebody else I would have a complete melt down. When I got mono in junior high things changed and went in the opposite direction. I stopped caring so much. And now, well... I do my best.

2. I have to wear shoes around the house. I can't stand walking on the floors barefoot. I'm just weird about my feet. I went through a phase when I was little where I wouldn't let my feet get wet when I bathed because I didn't like the feeling when I got out of the tub and they dried, now I have to put lotion on them first thing just like my hands.

3. Throughout elementary I never wore shoes that had ties. I couldn't stand when one side was tied tighter than the other, even slightly. Then, in junior high we had to wear gym shoes and I learned to wear shoes with ties.

4. Same goes for my hair. The only person I would let do my hair was my stepmom. I couldn't stand it if it wasn't tight enough and she did it just right.

5. I absolutely loved high school.

6. I am a night owl.

7. When I fold a piece of paper, the corners and ends have to line up exactly right. My mom fold hers all asymmetrical and it drives me nuts to even look at it.

8. I laugh at myself when I say something I think is funny. It makes me laugh even harder if it wasn't really funny.

9. My belly button (sorry to copy you McCall) is so deep that even when I'm 100% pregnant it won't pop and I can still fit a good portion of my finger in it.

10. I can't stand dark chocolate.

11. I cry at live performances whether it's a play, opera, ballet, or symphony. I guess it doesn't even have to be live. I also cry to a certain Eminem song. Yes, I listen to Eminem on occasion. In fact, a lot of songs on my workout playlist make me cry.

12. The only thing I love more than sleeping is my family.

13. I really really miss my mom's old boyfriend. They were together for 8 years and he was such a great guy. I wish they had gotten married.

14. I am totally uncoordinated.

15. I miss going to my college classes.

16. I hate big changes.

17. I don't like it when people leave my life.

18. My mom is my best friend.

19. I am insecure and self-conscious.

20. My life is never, in a million years, what I thought it was going to be.

21. Going to Costco gives me a happy feeling. I think it's because we used to go there as a family with my dad and stepmom. It's my happy place.

22. More than anything, growing up I just wanted to be a mom when I got older. I still do (most days).

23. I made myself get my bachelor's degree not only for myself but for other people. I wanted my kids, my mom, and John to be proud of me. An uncle who made a comment after I said something ditzy. He said, "And that's why you still haven't graduated." My dad said he was disappointed in me the semester I dropped out because of mono. I think everyone gave up on me when I got married at 19 and pregnant at 20. And John once asked if I ever finish anything I start and I didn't want him to see me as a quitter. I especially didn't want all my student loans to be for naught, even though they kinda are anyway. More than anything I just wanted to prove to myself I could do it. And I did! But anytime someone said something it just gave me the fuel to keep going, I thought, "Ha! I'll show them!"

24. After taking 16 credits in a summer semester, I slept almost 100 straight hours. I would love to do that again. (The sleep, not the semester.)

25. I miss my old Honda Accord. It was slightly beat up but ran great and never cost as much as this other POS. I really wish I hadn't totalled it. Did I ever tell you how that happened? I think it's safe to 2 years later. I was crying while listening (told you I cried) to Rascal Flatt's song "My Wish" on the way to school. I leaned over to get some napkins out of the glove compartment and when I looked up I saw a car 5 feet ahead of me at a dead stop and the next thing I saw was my white hood all bent and crumpled up staring at me. Hehe, oops!

Anyway, that's my 25 things. I tag anyone who read this and hope that I even know 25 people who still read my blog.

Super Annoying

Does it ever bug you when you go to the doctor's office and they ask if you live at the same address, you say yes, they continue to repeat it to you anyway? Then when you tell them that yes everything is the same they STILL read you your phone number, emergency contact, date of birth (as if that's changed!), and insurance? Are they legally required to ask everything? It bugs me so bad! Especially when I was going in to my OB for my incision twice a week. It's like I'm pretty sure I haven't moved since I was here on Monday and it's now Friday. Jeez!
