Hudson's First Month

Grammy gave Hudson his first bath at home.  He didn't like it too much, but as soon as the towel was around him he was fine.  This boy hates to be naked.  (3/18/12)

After his bath we put him in this cute froggy sleeper from Great Grandma Joyce.
We had to get a picture of the frog bottom!
He smelled so sweet, Coen couldn't resist asking to hold his baby brother.

Grammy and Coen in awe of precious baby Hudson.  (3/20/12)

Can you believe how small he looks in his carseat??  (3/20/12)

All bundled up one morning with the sun shining through the window. (3/25/12)

This is my favorite thing about babies - the snuggling!!  I dreamed of this all throughout my pregnancy.  (3/27/12)

He found some fingers to suck on.  (4/3/12)

He spends a lot of his naps in his swing.  It's the only place he'll sleep for longer than 5 minutes. (4/9/12)

It was a great first month with a new born.  He was pretty fussy and was sleeping his longest stretch of 5 hours during the day.  We're all just so in love with him and cherishing this newborn phase because we know all to well how fast they grow.

We were so very grateful my mom could be here.  She didn't leave until March 30th which gave me 3 whole work weeks (2 of which were at home) with someone always there.  She went above and beyond to help me, doing everything around the house and more.  I didn't have to lift a finger or worry about a single thing that whole time!!  I attribute a very large part of my fast recovery to her for taking over for me.  Mom, I love you and couldn't have done it without you!!  Thank you so much for putting your life on hold in SLC to come help me!

Fun with Grammy

The boys were so excited to see Grammy!!  She came in March 8, the Thursday before my c-section.  We picked Marshall up early from school so he could pick her up at the airport.  Ever since Grandpa Kirk came, Coen has been confused about how flying on an airplane works.  He thought Grandpa OWNED an airplane and flew it here himself.  So I was excited to take him into the airport to show him the plane Grammy flew in on (the way the airport is here it's easy to see through to the planes from outside security).  Anyway, the boy fell asleep on the way there and luckily I had my umbrella stroller in the trunk.  Can you imagine carrying him through the airport at 9 month pregnant??  He woke up when we got home and was SOOO excited Grammy had made it here.
Here he is the next morning doing some kind of happy dance.

 Marshall helped her unpack.

The timing of her trip was perfect, Marshall was out of school for spring break the week I was in the hospital!

They had lots of fun going to places like AirZone, the bowling alley, and she even took them to see The Lorax.

Grammy even makes running errands fun because she always lets them have a ride.

One day they made their own puppets and put on a puppet show for me and John.  We rigged the baby gate a little higher up the wall and used a blanket to create the curtain.  I love that they even took a bow after.

We love you Grammy!!!  You are missed!
